Mini 5 Pro: fly slow, lock exposure
The quick reference for cinematic drone footage. DJI Fly has no camera presets, but it remembers your settings; per flight you only touch ND, white balance and ISO. The full field card (with per-scene recipes) currently lives on the Dutch page, printable as PDF.
The settings I lock in
Resolution 4K Sharp and future-proof; leaves room to crop or stabilise later.
Frame rate 25 fps 25 fps matches the 50 Hz grid (EU and Curaçao) and looks cinematic. Use 50/60 fps only if you want to slow footage down later.
Shutter 1/50 s 180° rule: shutter ≈ 2× your frame rate. Gives natural motion blur instead of a stuttery image.
ISO 100 As low as possible = least noise. Only raise it when it is truly too dark, not to fix exposure.
White balance 5600 K — fixed Set it manually, never auto during a shot — otherwise the colour jumps mid-move. ~3200 K under artificial light.
Colour profile Normal or D-Log M Normal is ready to use without editing. The Mini 5 Pro has D-Log M (a simplified 10-bit log profile) — choose it only if you grade later: more dynamic range, but grading required.
Sharpness −1 Softer looks more cinematic. You can add sharpness later; too much can never be removed.
Noise reduction 0 Prevents the “plastic” smear that wipes out fine detail.
ND filter to suit the light ND8 overcast · ND16 sunny · ND32 harsh sun · ND64 white sand or reflective water. Keeps you at 1/50 s.
